Episode 1 · The Missing Hyejin

ROOM 404 is a free, story-driven escape game for desktop and mobile browsers. A message from the missing Hyejin leads you to Room 404 at Seoul Motel. Search five connected spaces—the guest room, control room, corridor, stopped elevator, and checkout area—and piece together the traces she left behind. Objects, records, and devices provide clues to the next door.

How to investigate

• Click or tap an object in the scene to inspect it. Open an inventory item to read its description, then select Use when a device needs it.
• Enter codes with the puzzle's number buttons and confirm your answer. Later puzzles involve choosing, swapping, or connecting components; read each panel's instructions first.
• HINT shows the current objective. Strong hints are available immediately without an ad or countdown; each newly revealed hint is counted in your result. Reopening the same hint does not add another use.
• The speaker button next to ROOM 404 controls volume and mute. The game includes dark scenes, tension, alarms, and fictional death outcomes. Adjust the sound to a comfortable level before continuing.

Before you start

No account or installation is required. A nickname is used in the story. Progress information is stored in this browser when storage is available; it is not synchronized across devices. Private browsing, clearing site data, or blocking storage may prevent recovery. If you encounter an issue, tell us the language, stage, device, and the action just before it happened.
